PRODUCTION OF FUEL ABSORBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a fuel absorber having superior durability and evaporated fuel capturing ability by allowing an org. high molecular compd. having fuel capturing function to react with a cross-linking agent in a soln. of a dispersant and granulating the resulting fine particles of polymer gel. CONSTITUTION:An org. high molecular compd. having fuel capturing function such as PP or PE is dissolved in a solvent such as benzene or toluene and the resulting soln. is added to a soln. contg. a dispersant such as PVA or gelatin under stirring. A reaction is allowed to take place in the presence of a cross- linking agent such as benzoyl peroxide. After the end of the reaction, fine particles 50 of polymer gel are collected and granulated without removing the dispersant 52 sticking to the particles 50 to obtain a fuel absorber 5 having superior durability to the cycle of absorption and desorption and superior evaporated fuel capturing ability.
