<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a heater by separating and dropping a spot through the supply of compressed air to a filter to which the spot in exhaust gas adheres, by scavenging it in a heater chamber, and on-off controlling the heater from temperature and scavenged amount of the spot. CONSTITUTION:During operation of an engine 2, when a CPU 20 detects that an accumulated revolution number of the engine 2 and an accumulated fuel injection amount of an injection pump exceed predetermined values, an opening/ closing valve 19 in an exhaust pipe 10 on the muffler side is closed, an opening/ closing valve 18 on an air pipe 18 is opened, and backwash air 14 is intermittently supplied from an air nozzle 16. This backwash air 14 acts on a filter 4 in the direction opposite to flow of an exhaust gas 12, separates a spot 13 adhering to the filter 4, and makes the separated spot 13 fall into a heater chamber 6. And a spot temperature T and a spot scavenged amount M are measured by a spot temperature sensor 24 and a spot scavenged amount sensor 25 in the heater chamber 6, and when the condition of T<600 deg.C and M>X is satisfied, a heater 21 is turned on to burn out the spot.</p> |
