PURPOSE:To provide a coating composition for a plastic molding which gives a coating film excellent in resistance to abrasion, scratch, and hot water and in other various properties. CONSTITUTION:The title composition comprises as the essential components 100 pts.wt. hydrolyzate of an epoxidized silicon compound represented by the formula R<1>R<2>aSi(OR<3>)3-a (wherein R<1> is an organic group having an epoxy group, R<2> is H or a 1-4C hydrocarbon group, R<3> is a 1-4C alkyl or an alkoxyalkyl, and a is 0 or 1); 30-500 pts.wt. silica which is a combination (90/10 to 0/100 by weight) of an unmodified colloidal silica and a modified colloidal silica each having an average particle diameter of 1-200nm; 1-50 pts.wt at least one member selected from among unsaturated and saturated polycarboxylic acids and their anhydrides; and 0.5-25 pts.wt. at least one hardener selected from among amines and organometallic compounds. |
