PURPOSE: To absorb an effluent efficiently and economically from a combusted fuel off-gas by injecting a pre-prepared sorbent for the effluent to absorb the effluent when the temp. of the off-gas contg. the effluent is lowered. CONSTITUTION: A water-soluble metallic salt such as iron, copper or manganese ions as a promoter is added to a water-soluble absorbent compd. such as calcium compounds and magnesium compound, to make a sorbent for an effluent. Then, after a fuel is combusted in a combustion chamber, the off-gas thereof is guided out and cooled to about 1650-2800 deg.F. Thereafter, the prepared sorbent is injected into the off-gas, to form fine particulate sprays with an average particulate diameter of not more about 100 microns. Thus, the environmentally harmful effluent is removed economically and efficiently. |
