<p>PURPOSE:To provide a process for the production of an ink for an ink jet printer which ensures high printing quality irrespective of the type of paper, realizes high printing density, is excellent not only in dryability on recording paper and water and light resistances of recorded image but also in dispersion stability, does not suffer from nozzle clogging and is free of color contamination, so that it is highly practical. CONSTITUTION:A process for the production of an ink comprising at least a pigment, a resin and/or a dispersant and a nonpolar insulating solvent, wherein a processed pigment obtained by milling the pigment and the resin under heating is dispersed in the nonpolar insulating solvent having the resin and/or the dispersant dissolved therein. Thereafter, additionally, the obtained dispersion is diluted with the nonpolar insulating solvent having the resin and/or the dispersant dissolved therein. The average particle diameter of the processed pigment dispersed in the ink is in the range of 0.2-10mum.</p> |
