PURPOSE: To prevent an igniter from vibrating and generating a noise, due to flowing low-frequency alternating current by using resin or metal having a low magneto-strictive factor to conceal the cover of the igniter or the case of a power supply device. CONSTITUTION: When an igniter 30 actuates a light source power supply device and AC power is supplied to an auxiliary transformer 32 via a switch 31, the voltage of the power is increased with the transformer 31 and a capacitor 33 is charged. Then, the electric charge of the capacitor 33, upon exceeding the discharge voltage of a spark gap 34, is released via the primary winding 35a of a coupling coil 35 and the gap 34. As a result, high-voltage and high-frequency alternating current is generated in the secondary winding 35b of the coil 35, and supplied to a lamp 21, thereby lighting the lamp 21. After the lamp 21 lights, the igniter 30 is turned off with the switch 31 or the like. In this case, a resin case or a nonmagnetic metallic case having a low magneto-strictive factor such as a stainless steel case is used to house the igniter 30. |
