PURPOSE: To gradually feed the wire in the feeding direction while the wire is reciprocated without using a see-saw mechanism or the like. CONSTITUTION: In a wire saw device 1 where the wire 2 for cutting is wound around a plurality of working head rollers 10, 11, 12, and a work 13 is cut by reciprocating the wire in the straight direction while the wire 2 is pressed against the work 13 between the working head rollers 10, 11, 12, the working head rollers 10, 11, 12, a tension roller 7 on the upstream side of the feeding direction, and a tension roller 8 on the downstream side are driven by a drive motor 9. The driving direction of the drive motor 9 is periodically reversed, and the number of revolution of the wire 2 in the feeding direction is larger than that in the returning direction, and the wire 2 is moved in the feeding direction at the constant speed by the difference of the number of revolutions. |
