摘要 A parallelepiped slab (1) is placed on edge such that its main plane may be vertical, after which the slab (1) defiles in this position in front of one or more oxy-cutting fluxes (26) the reference height of which is determined with respect to a horizontal support plane (P) in which the lower side of the slab is found during its defilement. The one or more cutting ribbons (6) on the face opposite to the face attacked by the one or more oxy-cutting fluxes (26) are eliminated during the defilement of the slab (1). Each pair of oxy-cutting fluxes may be arranged in opposition on a common plane (Q) parallel to the horizontal support plane (P). The installation used to put this method of oxy-cutting into service is also claimed and comprises: a) a mechanism (40) for rocking the slab (1) after it is placed on its edge; b) a support (10) for the slab (1) and a mechanism (16) for retaining the slab (1) in the vertical position; c) and at least one oxy-cutting torch (21).
