PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce memory that stores coefficient data and an arithmetic circuit that performs estimation arithmetic of pixel data and coefficient data by degenerating the number of taps of a linear estimation expression. SOLUTION: An ADRC(adaptive dynamic range coding) circuit 3 generates a space class from SD (standard definition) data that is segmented in an area segmenting circuit 2, and a motion class deciding circuit 5 generates a motion class from SD data that is segmented in an area segmenting circuit 4. A class generating circuit 6 generates a class code from the space class and the motion class. In a tap degenerating ROM 7, additional code data that degenerates the taps of the SD data in every class code is supplied to a tap degenerating circuit 10, and in the circuit 10, the SD data that is segmented by an area segmenting circuit 9 is degenerated. In an estimation arithmetic circuit 11, coefficient data that responds to the class code is supplied from a ROM table 8 and HD(high definition) data is acquired by a linear estimation expression with the degenerated SD data. |
