PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive the translation service of a language used freely by arranging an automatic translation device at a radio or wired base station and connecting a portable terminal equipment to the base station through a radio or wired channel. SOLUTION: Portable terminal equipments 101-104 are connected to a base station 100 through radio channels 105-108. The portable terminal equipment 101 converts voice information received from a microphone into a digital signal, recognizes the voice signal, and adds the recognized result to the information as character code information as a code identify a kind of language and sends the resulting information to the base station. The base station 100 translates the received voice recognition result into other language and sends the translated result through a radio channel to a portable terminal equipment. The information sent from the base station is sent to a portable terminal equipment 102 in terms of translation character code information 106 being the result of translation to a multi-language, voice multiplex information 107 is sent to a portable terminal equipment 103, or finger language image information 108 is sent to a portable terminal equipment 104 with display device as various forms. |
