In a process for producing a metal-containing and highly heat resistant thermally sprayed layer in cyclones for removing dust from hot gases, a metal-ceramic (cermet) layer comprising a metallic matrix based on iron, nickel or cobalt containing at least one of the additives aluminium, titanium, chromium, boron and/or silicon and having a metal oxide content of from 5 to 60 % by weight of the spraying material is sprayed onto the inner surface of the cyclone. The metal-ceramic layer is sprayed on using a pulverulent spraying material, with, if desired, an alloying addition for the metal matrix of up to 12 % by weight of the spraying material of aluminium, of up to 12 % by weight of titanium, up to 35 % by weight of chromium, up to 6 % by weight of boron and/or up to 6 % by weight of silicon being used. |
