The system has a decanting chamber (3) extending along the top of the engine and designed to separate oil from the crankcase gases, with ducts (12, 19) to deliver the gases from the chamber to the engine air intake. The decantation chamber and the ducts are made during casting, the decantation chamber being formed from one cavity in the top of the cylinder head (1), and a second cavity in a cover which fits over it and contains the ducts.
