Retrieving information from LC resonance tag to discriminate counterfeit articles

A reflected wave analyzer (11) is used to detect LC resonance tag (1) containing information on the brand of article, name of article. Information based on ID data corresponding to the waveform of the reflected wave detected by the analyzer, is displayed audibly or visually to verify the article. The resonant tags (1) are contained in or stuck onto an article. The tag has the form of a thin sheet made of metallic electric conductors on both surfaces of a dielectric film. The conductors have capacitor patterns and the resonance frequency of the LC tag varies according to the number of turns of the capacitor coil patterns. The reflected wave analyzer (11) has a CPU (12) to control a scan timing/frequency control unit (13). The unit controls a transmission amplifier (14) to transmit waves from a transmission antenna (15). The transmission frequency band of the reflected wave analyzer is divided into ten channels so ten kinds of LC resonant tag can be used.
