PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To communicate a data with a plurality of external units using single infrared sensor by switching an optical path without varying the external view of a printer. SOLUTION: Communication windows 21, 22 facing a plurality of directions are made in the outer case 12 of a printer 11, a unit for communicating an optical data with external units through the communication windows 21, 22 is contained in the case 12 and means 18 for switching the optical path of the optical data communicating unit is provided. Optical path of the optical data communicating unit can be switched without changing the direction of the printer using the communicating direction switching means 18. |
