PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make urea readily decomposable in an optimal state, make an additive component separate out at a relatively low temperature in a ceramic slurry, deposit the additive component on the surface of a ceramic principal component raw material powder and coat the surface of the ceramic principal component raw material powder with the deposited additive component. SOLUTION: This method for producing a ceramic powder comprises a step for adding and mixing a precipitant with a ceramic slurry containing a principal component raw material powder of the ceramic and an additive component and a step for drying the mixed ceramic slurry and separating out the ceramic powder contained therein. An enzyme capable of decomposing the precipitant together with the precipitant is added to the ceramic slurry. Urea is usually used as the precipitant and a urease enzyme as a urea hydrolase together with the urea is added. The urea in the ceramic slurry is hydrolyzed with the urea hydrolase to produce ammonia. Thereby, the pH at the time of mixing the ceramic slurry can be raised to separate out the additive element in the ceramic slurry at a relatively low temperature of about 40 deg.C and deposit the separated out additive element on the surfaces of ceramic grains. |
