PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recording-reproducing to be feasible at high C/N ratio, and improve light fastness in particular by providing on a tape-like support a recording layer capable of recording and reproducing information in use of a laser beam to contain a specific compound and a high polymeric compound as a binder. SOLUTION: The tape-like optical information recording medium has on a tape-like support at least one recording layer capable of recording and reproducing information by the use of a laser beam, and contains a compound expressed by formula and a polymeric compound as a binder in its recording layer. The recording layer contains cyanin coloring matter expressed by formula (in the formula, Z1 and Z2 show respectively independently an atomic group for forming a 5- or 6-membered N-containing heterocyclic group, R11 and R12 shown respectively alkyl, and L1 to L5 independently methine which may be substitutional. Also, n1 and n2 show respectively independently 0, 1 or 2, (p) and (q) show 0 or 1, M1 shows charge neutralization paired ions, and m1 shows an integer of 0 or more required to neutralize charges in molecule). In addition, for such a polymeric compound contained in the recording layer as a binder, there are used a natural polymeric substance or synthetic polymeric substance such as gelatin and rubber. This causes C/N to be high, and its recording capacity; in particular, its light-fastness can be enhanced. |
