PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an edible composition recognizable intestine control function such as resolution of constipation, safety and suitable to use for a long period of time by including an extract of a stalk part of Cassia acutifolia and Lactobacillus bifidus. SOLUTION: This edible composition containing an extract of a stalk part of Cassia acutifolia and Lactobacillus bifidus, preferably having a state of a solid or a tablet-like solid is obtained as follows. A raw stalk of Cassia acutifolia or drying it, as necessary, and directly or pulverizing to subject to a solvent extraction. As a solvent, hot water, a lower alcohol such as ethanol, a polyhydric alcohol such as propylene glycol or a hydrocarbon-based solvent such as n-hexane is exemplified. Preferably, 108-50×108 pieces of Lactobacillus bifidus are mixed with an extract of a stalk of Cassia acutifolia corresponding to 2-6 mg reduced to sennoside A.B. |
