PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain efficient information processing by calculating a reference value for discriminating whether or not an original is a white original, on the basis of number of black pixels of image data of a reference white original received separately so as to enhance detection accuracy of the white original. SOLUTION: An image input means 1 continuously reads an image of an original paper sheet, on which information is printed and converts the image into digital image data. A buffer 5 of a main control section 2 receives the converted image data, a document management means 6 assigns a document ID to the data and a storage means 4 stores the resulting data, whereas, a program working on the main control section 2 acts as a white paper detection means 3. The white paper detection means 3 counts number of black pixels in the received image data, compares it with a reference value having been stored as a black level of a white paper sheet, and discriminates whether or not an original is a white paper original, depending on whether or not the black level of the received image data is higher than that of the reference white paper. Then the reference value for discriminating whether or not an original is a white paper original is calculated from number of black level pixels of image data of the reference white paper original separately received. |
