PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the measuring time, and to improve the efficiency and detection accuracy by reacting a mediator in response to the effect of the enzyme present in a cell membrane, and electrochemically detect the reacted mediator. SOLUTION: A mediator is reacted in response to the effect of the enzyme present in a cell membrane of the bacteria (including the live bacteria) which is present in a sample and detected. The reacted mediator is detected or determined by in electrochemical method.
