PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color filter which has a function of a spacer to regulate the thickness of the liquid crystal layer of a liquid crystal display device, which can be easily produced with high productivity, and which does not cause leaking of light around spherical spacers conventionally used. SOLUTION: By this method, a polymer film having a solid phase resist layer of specified thickness containing a coloring agent is laminated on a glass substrate 1 to transfer the resist layer to the glass substrate 1, and the resist layer is exposed and developed. This operation is repeated to successively form color layers 2 of a plurality of colors in the respective specified regions on the glass substrate 1. At a same time, a part of adjacent color layers 2 are laminated into two or more layers to form a plurality of laminated portions 22. By this method, since the color layer 2 can be formed to uniform thickness all over the forming region including the laminated portions 22, the thickness of the liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal display device can be regulated by the laminated portions 22. |
