PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction method and a reproduction device that can quickly find out an access point of video data so as to attain a quick search. SOLUTION: A video decoder 25 reads, an I picture appearing first, two B pictures succeeding to the I picture, one P picture and two B pictures, decodes them and outputs the decoded pictures. Since the I, B, B, P pictures except first two B pictures can be decoded and one access can provide an output of 4 moving pictures. In the case that the position of the I picture is clarified on the basis of information such as a sub code/private packet, a driver 10 using this information can search the I picture and 6 consecutive pictures similarly to the case above are read.
