摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability and productivity of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery by forming the battery container and battery lid of a rectangular or elliptical lithium secondary battery from aluminum, closing a battery opening using a double winding method, and increasing superimposed energy density. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which uses a lithium-containing compound as its positive electrode and a carbonaceous material doped and undoped with lithium as its negative electrode, a battery container 5 and a battery lid 9, both made from aluminum, are closed by a double winding method after injection of an electrolyte; i.e., the curl of the lid 9 whose outer periphery is curved into a predetermined configuration is wound on itself from the outside of a flange formed at the end of the container 5, and then these parts are pressed from the outside and joined together. When the distance between the end of the curl of the lid 9 and the end of the flange of the container 5 is (a) and the distance between the inside of the curved part of the curl of the lid 9 and the inside of the curved part of the flange of the container 5 is (b), a structural parameter a/b is desirably 0.5-10.
