PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back/side alarm device for determining only a backside approach object as an alarm object and generating an alarm. SOLUTION: The back/side alarm device comprises a range sensor 101 for setting the maximum radiation direction to a diagonally backside on the lane change side of a vehicle and detecting a distance of an object in this direction, and a lane change intention detecting means 102 for detecting a lane change intention of a driver. The alarm device comprises an alarm object determining means 105 for determining the object as an alarm object of a backside approach object only when the object is detected at a distance shorter than the distance initially detected by the range sensor as a reference distance. The alarm device comprises an alarm determining means 106 for determining an alarm state when the lane change intention of the driver is detected by the lane change intention detecting means, the object is detected in a predetermined distance on the lateral side and diagonally backside of the vehicle by the range sensor, and the object is determined as the alarm object by the alarm object determining means, and an alarm means 104 for giving the alarm to the objective driver when the alarm state is determined.
