The equipment (20) is for treating the top shoot of a conifer tree using a treatment fluid and has a grip part and a spray screen. The spray screen in the upper and lower edges in the usage position is provided with apertures (27,28,31,32) for insertion of the top shoot. The spray screen in its interior is provided with at least one nozzle (37,38) for spraying treatment fluid. The spray screen comprises at least two relatively movable cabinet parts, which in a first open position of the spray screen exposes a gap (26) to the interior of the spray screen. The cabinet parts in a second closed position of the spray screen virtually close the gap.
