PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize diversified functions while effectively utilizing the inherent functions of a display controller. SOLUTION: When a signal requesting image display is outputted from a host CPU 2, the display controller 3 generates the raster data of the image requested to be displayed by an EIC 10 and causes the generated raster data to be displayed on an LCD 5 by an LCD driver 8. When a signal of a high level is inputted to a bus changeover circuit 6, the EIC 10 is made to execute the operation check processing to check whether the display controller 3 functions normally or not. According to such constitution, the EIC 10 is made to perform the control of the display controller 3. The conditions, purposes, etc., of use can therefore be made broader as compared to the method of performing the control of the display controller 3 fully by the host CPU 2 of the information processor 1.
