PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of efficiently melting frost adhered to an outdoor heat exchanger. SOLUTION: A bypass tube 16 with a solenoid opening/closing valve 17 branched from a discharge tube 15 connected to the discharge side of a compressor is connected to the immediate upstream side of a divider 24 in which a refrigerant returning thereto after circulating through an indoor unit in heating operation. The bypass tube 16 is branched on the downstream side of the solenoid opening/closing valve 17 to form a bypass branched pipe 16a, and the bypass branched pipe 16a is connected from the divider 24 to the downstream side of a flowing resistance 19 of a branch tube 23 having the flowing direction 19 and connected to the paths 27a and 27b of the outdoor heat exchanger 12. Thus, since a high-temperature and high-pressure gas refrigerant discharged from the compressor can also be circulated to the paths 27a and 27b, the frost adhered to the entire part of the outdoor heat exchanger 12 can be removed by efficiently melting it.
