发明名称 CERAMICS FOR MAGNETIC HEAD
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain hematite (&alpha;-Fe2 O3 )-base nonmagnetic ceramics excellent in CSS characteristics and having reduced spontaneous magnetization. SOLUTION: A powdery Fe2 O3 -Cr2 O3 mixture is calcined, pulverized, compacted and sintered at <=1,300 deg.C in the air or further subjected to HIP if necessary to produce a hematite-base nonmagnetic substrate for a magnetic head contg. Cr2 O3 by 5.5-20mol% based on the amt. of Fe2 O3 as the base. The resultant ceramics has reduced spontaneous magnetization as compared with Fe2 O3 (100%). The crystal structure of the sintered compact has a single phase and superior CSS characteristics are maintained.
