A pocket coil spring structure assembling apparatus (1) produces a pocket coil spring structure of upholstery furniture by bonding rows of pocket coil springs to one another. The apparatus comprises a feeder mechanism (5) for supplying a group of the pocket coil springs (3) to a positioning transfer conveyor (6). The positioning transfer conveyor mechanism (6) conveys the group of the pocket coil springs (3) to a predetermined location. A cutter mechanism (7) is mounted between the feeder mechanism (5) and the positioning transfer conveyor mechanism (6) for separating a group of the pocket coil springs (3) from the succeeding pocket coil springs (3). A press holding mechanism (9) holds and lifts the group of the pocket coil springs (3) on the positioning transfer conveyor (6) by pressing the radial center of each pocket coil spring (3) from both sides. A press holding mechanism carrier mechanism (10) moves the press holding mechanism (9) in four, forward, backward, leftward, and rightward directions. A spray mechanism (66) applies a spray of an adhesive material (14) to the group of the pocket coil springs (3). A nozzle carrier mechanism (16) moves a spray nozzle (15).
