摘要 An integrated circuit for controlling charging, a charging device using the integrated circuit, and a method for detecting connection of a secondary battery are provided to be unnecessary for an additional reference voltage or current for determination through a comparator with hysteresis. A charging device(1) performs charging on a secondary battery(6) composed of a lithium ion battery using a DC power source(5) such as an AC adapter as a power source. The secondary battery(6) is connected to a load(7) to supply the power to the load(7). The charging device(1) includes a charging power transistor(Q1) composed of a PMOS transistor supplying current in accordance with a signal input to a base to the secondary battery(6) and a resistor(R1) for detecting the current value of the charging current supplied from the power transistor(Q1) to the secondary battery(6). Furthermore, the charging device(1) includes a diode(D1) for preventing the inverse flow of current from the secondary battery(6) to the DC power source(5) and a charging control circuit(2) for controlling the operation of the power transistor(Q1) so that charging is performed on the secondary battery(6).
