PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core structure of a reactor suppressing the generation of separated flow in the radial connection part of a downcomer and suppressing the generation of swirl flow caused by the separated flow. SOLUTION: In the downcomer, the flow width WM of a main flow path 35 existing below a coolant inlet nozzle 3 and the flow width WM1+WM2 of a main flow path 39 are constituted to be narrower than the flow widths of flow paths 42 and 45 between thermal shields existing below the coolant outlet nozzle 17. A corner chamfer is formed in the upper corner 34 of the thermal shield 33. Also, between thermal shields 33 and 36, separation suppressing members 41 and 44 formed in streamlines at the tip ends 40 and 43 respectively are provided.
