A peripheral apparatus identifying method and an apparatus thereof for acquiring the identifying information of the peripheral apparatus using location information of peripheral apparatus and a user terminal are provided to identify the apparatus of the other by using a view finder or a screen of a camera and to transmit media signal to the peripheral apparatus. A controller(210) controls the overall operation of a user terminal(100). The controller comprises an ALU(Arithmetic Logic Unit) for performing calculation and a register for the temporary storage of data. A memory unit(220) stores a program for performing a media generating apparatus. An input unit(230) selects the peripheral apparatus for the local area wireless communications from a user. An output unit(240) outputs the overall state or the information of the user terminal through a screen or a speaker. A location information processor(300) acquires the location of the peripheral apparatus.
