A display device comprises: a substrate; a pixel provided on the substrate; and a color filter unit provided between the substrate and the pixel. The color filter unit comprises a color filter in correspondence to the pixel and a black matrix provided to at least one side of the color filter. The pixel comprises: a cover layer configured to define a cavity on the substrate; an image display layer provided into the cavity; and first and second electrodes configured to provide an electric field to the image display layer. The cavity is formed by forming a sacrificial layer and wet-etching the sacrificial layer to be eliminated. Therefore, a manufacturing time and costs are drastically reduced when the display device is manufactured.
