A rechargeable battery according to an embodiment of the present invention, which can prevent damage to an electrode assembly or an insulator, comprises: the electrode assembly having a first electrode and a second electrode of different polarities; a case for receiving the electrode assembly and having an opening; a cap assembly coupled through the opening to seal the case; a first current collection member and a second current collection member disposed in the case to be respectively connected to the first electrode and the second electrode; and a first terminal and a second terminal disposed on the cap assembly to be respectively connected to the first current collection member and the second current collection member. The case has a pair of opposite side walls each having a groove from the opening to the other side. |
