The invention concerns front-cutting nippers (1) with two handles (4, 5) and two cutting jaws (2, 3) which are mounted to pivot about a joint pin (9), each of the jaws being located at one end of a flat plate (10, 11) which forms a joint surface and the jaws (2, 3) being mounted to overlap the joint surfaces which can move towards each other. The cutting edges (6, 6') extend essentially at right angles to the joint surfaces. In order to obtain increased cutting performance and stability of operation, the invention proposes that, when the nippers (1) are open, the projection of one (6') of the cutting edges (6, 6') in the cutting direction essentially overlaps the joint surface on which the other cutting edge (6) is mounted. |
