PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable image data to be sent from an external device to be reprinted under changed conditions in accordance with instructions from an image forming device by performing again the image forming operation of the image data retained by a retaining means, in compliance with information set by a resetting means. SOLUTION: If image data is received, an image forming position on a page is calculated and a character descriptor(CD) is prepared on an RAM 9. If a CD equivalent to a single page is completely prepared, a bit map is developed on the CD using font on a font cartridge, and then bit map data is sent to a printer engine 12 to form an image. After a final image forming operation, the CD is retained on RAM 9 for a specified period. If a blank space is reset, for example, by a resetting means provided on a control panel 11, a position for printing each of the CDs is set by the difference between the reset value and the already formed CD to be stored on the RAM 9. Finally, the printing positions of the CDs are developed on the bit map data and an image is formed. |
