Disclosed are a method and apparatus for sharing a media programme, which are applied to a set top box. The method comprises: receiving a trigger instruction for sharing a current media programme; acquiring resource information of the current media programme according to the trigger instruction; and selecting a shared object, and transmitting the resource information to the shared object. The above-mentioned technical solution solves the problem in the related art that a recommended media programme cannot be recommended or acquired by a user by interaction with other users. By using the above-mentioned technical solution, the user can recommend or acquire the recommended media programme by interacting with other users, thereby improving the transmission efficiency and audience ratings of live or on-demand media programmes. |
