PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing, with high productivity, a polarizer having a non-polarizing section.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polarizer includes the steps for forming a polyvinyl alcohol resin layer on a resin substrate and obtaining a layered body, dyeing the polyvinyl alcohol resin layer with iodine, stretching the layered body, and bringing the polyvinyl alcohol resin layer into contact with a basic solution and forming a non-polarizing section after the dyeing and stretching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
