Bearing housing, esp. for big end bearing of the connecting rod of an I.C. engine, comprises halves joined at a plane including the axis of the bearing. The halves are secured together by two bolts (9, 10) extending perpendicularly to the junction plane. Further, the halves are held in alignment by two dowel pins (7a, 7b, 8a, 8b) extending parallel to the junction plane. Each dowel pin is situated in two opposite grooves in the junction faces of the halves, and the two dowel pins are situated for their axes (Y-X; Y'-Y') to be at an acute angle to one another to prevent relative axial movement of the halves. |
