1302282 Yarn packages LEESONA CORP 1 Jan 1970 [2 Jan 1969] 30350/72 Divided out of 1302281 Heading B8M [Also in Division D1] The apparatus described is the same as that in the parent Specification but the claims are directed to a bobbin 30, Fig. 9, having a terminal length forming a localized bunch 118 wound on the remaining body of yarn 24<SP>1</SP>. The localized bunch 118 is preferably proximate to that end of the bobbin over which the yarn is to be withdrawn. The bobbin may have a hollow core and a free end from said bunch 118 may be positioned within the core. There may be a perforated member 160 near the upper end of the core on to which said free end is drawn by suction. In place of the perforated member 160 there may be a plunger (164), Fig. 10 (not shown), that rises up through the bobbin to a point below the upper end of the bobbin. The plunger has a screen (166) at its upper end and a vacuum within the plunger (164) draws the free yarn end into the bobbin core and on to said screen (166) in the form of a bunch. |
