Screws are tightened whilst providing torsional oscillations by a device comprising an oscillating means 2, which has a shaft 6 connected to a nut engaging spindle 8, and extending through a tube 4. Spindle 8 is connected to a handle 11, and also to a pointer 9 which co-operates with a scale 5 carried by tube 4, for indicating the applied torque. The oscillating means may consist of an air vibrator, an impact wrench, or a magnetic oscillator. |
