Needled sheet, previously well consolidated mechanically and of 200-600g/m2, is coated with a thermoplastics powder or a mixture of this with fillers and thermoplastics-free rubber material. The sheet is heated above the softening temp. of the powder and calendered in the heated state, so that linear recesses are enclosed into the sheet. Specifically the thermoplastics is e.g. polypropylene, PVC, polyvinyl acetate or mixed polymers which remain stable at room temp. and soften below the softening temp. of the fibres used. |
