1285066 Blood containers UNION CARBIDE CORP 26 Sept 1969 [9 Oct 1968] 47400/ 69 Heading A5R [Also in Division B8] A flexible sterile plastics container 10 for colecting, storing, and dispensing viable fluids, especially blood, comprises a storage compartment 14 for the fluid and two end compartments 16, 18 containing plastics fluid collecting conduits 20, 21 and a fluid dispensing conduit 22 respectively. The compartments are separated and the conduits permanently sealed to the container walls and the inner walls of the conduits are releasably sealed together at 27 by transverse heat seals 24, 26. The ends of the container 10 are sealed and compartment 16 divided by heat seals 28, 29, 30, and notches 36 are provided to facilitate opening. A secondary seal (27') may be made in conduit 22 or an elongated plug inserted. In a modification, the seal 29 is omitted, the conduits are made longer, and a deep opening notch (44) surrounded by a seal (42) is provided adjacent seal 26. |
