Long fibres are dispersed in a liquid medium using as dispersing agent the reaction product of (a) a compound having at least one primary amino group (b) a keto-compound and (c) an iso-nitrile with (d) a polyuronic acid; a surface structure is formed by a known wet process and the structure dried and then treated with a solution or dispersion of a di- or poly-isocyanate in a non-aqueous solvent. The fibres are preferably of polyamides, polyesters or polyacrylonitriles and are 30-60 mm. in length. A surface structure of good strength and textile feel is obtained.
