1,261,495. Regenerating supported platinum-rhenium catalysts. CHEVRON-RESEARCH CO. 6 March, 1970 [12 March, 1969], No. 10989/70. Heading B1E. Catalysts comprising a platinum group metal and Re on a porous inorganic oxide which have been deactivated under hydroconversion conditions are regenerated by contacting the catalyst with O 2 at a partial pressure of 0.1-2.5 psia at a temperature below 800‹F until substantially all carbonaceous matter has been removed, then contacting the decarbonised catalyst with O 2 at a partial pressure of 1.0-2.5 psia at 800-900‹F for at least 0.5h and then contacting the catalyst with O 2 at a partial pressure of 2.5-7.5 psia at 900-1200‹F for at least 0.5h. If necessary a halide is introduced into the oxygen containing gas while the catalyst is a temperature above 800‹F. |
