1325465 Tape reels PHILIP MORRIS Inc 29 Sept 1970 [29 Sept 1969] 46233/70 Heading B8M [Also in Division B3] A wind-on continuous razor blade is attached to a pay-out or take-up reel 10 of moulded plastics material by forcing an end portion of the band into a peripheral slot 21 in the reel using a locking member 15 shaped and dimensioned to clamp the band elastically in the slot. The member 15 is initially connected integrally with a flange 11 of the reel by webs 16 which are severed by movement of the member into the slot. Shoulder portions 25 of the slot snap around a bulbous portion of the member 15 and retaining tongues 26a may be punched out of the band. In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown), an upper reel portion (61) is of reduced cross-section for mounting in a bearing support of the razor, mounting of this reel portion in the razor preventing the slot from opening to release the band without the need for the retaining shoulders 25. |
