A solid image capturing apparatus and method for fabricating the same is disclosed. The solid image capturing apparatus and method for fabricating the same comprises a charge transmitting channel for transmitting a signal charge accumulated in a semiconductor substrate through a light-shielding layer and a light-receiving part, a channel stopper layer formed along the photoelectric conversion region except for a channel portion for connecting the photoelectric conversion region with the charge transmitting channel and a light-absorbing region formed a portion of the channel stopper layer. Thereby, a high quality of image can be obtained and the surface of the light-receiving portion is significantly widened.
