A method for processing a maintenance message in a private switch is disclosed. The method for processing the maintenance message in a private switch comprises: analizing the type of a received message; determining whether the message is a trunk message or not; transmitting the temporarily stored message for processing internally when it's not a trunk message; determining whether the received message is a trunk message or not, when the message is received from a attendant console; transmitting the message to a switch board when the received message is a trunk message or processing internally when the received message is not a trunk message; and generating a response message and transmitting the response message to the attendant console. Thereby, the method for processing the maintenance message in the private switch may be applied for monitor and control of a system related to information communication as well as private switches.
