SUBSTANCE: soluble polysaccharides such as pectin and carraginane are extracted from vegetable raw material by passing extracting liquid through fixed layer of polysaccharide- containing raw material to carry out simultaneously hydrolysis and extraction of polysaccharide from the vegetable raw material and separate polysaccharide containing solution from the remaining solid vegetable material. No individual filtration stage is required. Filler may be added to vegetable raw material to increase percolation speed of extracting liquid through the layer. EFFECT: more efficient extraction process.
