PURPOSE:To improve the image reproducibility of a developing device which uses single-component magnetic toner, by arranging a magnet, which has the same polarity with a magnet in a developing sleeve, in opposition to the magnet. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 18 having the same polarity with an optional magnet 17 is arranged, facing the magnet, outside of a developing sleeve 11. When a developer (single-component magnetic toner) on the sleeve 11 arrives between the magnets 17 and 18 after development, a bound magnetic field scatters the developer on the sleeve 11, so that it is all removed from the surface of the sleeve 11. The scattered developer is attracted onto the sleeve 11 again together with a developer 15 in a hopper 14. Thus, the hysteresis of a developed image left in a developer layer on the sleeve 11 after the development is erased completely. Therefore, image reproducibility is improved without causing deterioration in development performance. |
