PURPOSE:To measure a short time with a high precision, by using two lamp generators to extend and measure the time. CONSTITUTION:When a start signal 51 indicating the start of measurement is generated at a time t1, the start signal 51 is supplied to the first lamp generator and a counter. By this signal, the first lamp generator generates a signal 52 having a prescribed inclination alpha. A counter 45 starts counting a high-speed clock signal, which is supplied from an oscillator, from this time t1. When a stop signal 53 is generated, this signal 53 is supplied to the second lamp generator, and the second generator generates a signal 54 having a prescribed inclination beta. The inclination of the signal 54 generated from the second lamp generator 42 is set to a value slightly larger than that of the signal 52. When a comparator 44 detects the coincidence between potentials of signals 52 and 54, the counting of the counter is stopped at a time t3. |
